I’m Not One For New Year’s Resolutions But This New Way of Seeing Things Will Make For a Great 2009 By Gaynor Parke

For the first time in my life as I look at the year that is coming to an end I happily look back over my life and the first thing that occurs to me is my appreciation of all the people who have pissed me off in the past. Hmm, “she’s gone crazy” do I hear you say? Well in the past I would agree with that statement. But now, I know that this is the best way to feel. I’m not trying to feel appreciative, I just am appreciative. In the past when I looked at all the people who had caused me pain, I was angry and resentful toward them and most of you, dear reader, if you knew my story would agree that I had a good reason to be angry at them. But now, I feel deep and true appreciation to those people. Are you asking why? Are you thinking I have gone all religious and wacky? Well I feel all that has happened is that I am seeing the world how it really is.

I know in the world there are things that please me and there are things that do not please me and I am free to choose how I feel about all of it. I have known that for some time now and it feels so good. I have been practicing feeling good in all circumstances and I believe I have been very successful therefore loving life more than ever. The side affect of feeling good is that circumstances in my world are reflecting wonderful things back to me, so I am enjoying life more and choosing to feel good about that and more lovely things come and I appreciate them and on and on.

There is another part of life though and that is the experience of contrasting or unwanted experiences. In the past I have pushed against those experiences with great force trying to eradicate them. Now, I realize that is because of those experiences, I created an even stronger wanting for the opposite of those experiences and when I got in alignment with joy and appreciation, those things that I did want, manifested in my life. So you see, the annoyance, the resentment, the anger, the pain I felt due to having certain people in my life only fueled a greater desire for wonderful experiences and that is a wonderful thing.

When I have the choice to create a desire and I do, and I have the choice to come into alignment with that desire by feeling good about things and I do, then those things that cause me to create greater desires are actually assisting me live a better life. Sound crazy? Well when you understand that we all have the choice to feel good or not feel good at any moment in time and the universe through the Law Of Attraction creates our desires then it is easy to appreciate those that helped you create really powerful desires.

So on this last day of the best year of my life I want to send out great big bouquets to all the people in my life that caused my great pain and say to them that if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be having such a wonderful time, so thank you.

I know I am the creator of my world as are you dear reader and I wish you all wonderful things and really irritating things too in 2009 so you can clarify all the things you want and send your order off to the Universe, for once it is sent, it will be delivered to you if you appreciate where you are and joyously look forward to what is ahead. Because of The Law Of Attraction, The Universe must reflect back to you what you put your attention on so enjoy it all and have a magnificent 2009, warts and all.

Study Abroad in South Africa By Trish Smith

Published by admin under Education Abroad

A study abroad South Africa trip consists not only of a glimpse inside a spiritual and historical people, but also face-to-face encounters with some of the most beautiful wildlife and landscapes in the world.

If you travel to South Africa for a summer abroad you can have a once-in-a-lifetime experience jumping from Bloukrans Bridge, the highest bungee jump destination in the world.

If you happen to be in the South African town of Hermanus in the months of August to November for a semester abroad, you’ll be able to watch whales from some of the most amazing cliffs in Africa.

From exotic cuisine to never-before-seen animals, South Africa will be one of the memorable study abroad experiences you will ever have.

South Africa Study Abroad Programs

Any university that you choose to visit in South Africa will be full of new and exciting things to do and see.

For a diverse South African experience you can join a study abroad program at Stellenbosch University, which has one of the oldest international offices in South Africa.

You can take classes in everything from African studies and political science to art and history, and you can meet a wide variety of international students from Rwanda, Australia, India, Greece and many other countries. Stellenbosch is considered an institution of excellence and encourages diverse ideas and perspective from its staff and students.

If you’re interested in engineering, the environment, humanities, law and science, the University of Cape Town is the perfect place for you to gain undergraduate college credit. This is the oldest university in all of South Africa, and it prides itself in its top-rated teaching and research facilities.

In fact, it’s home to over a quarter of all the highest-rated researchers in the world in their field of study. Most importantly, the University of Cape Town continually supports HIV/AIDS prevention and research in a wide variety of programs administered by students and staff.

Another South African institution where you can find a good study abroad program is at North-West University.

South Africa Transportation Options

South Africa has the largest economy in all of Africa, so that means there are many modes of transportation individuals use to get from one place to the next.

The most important mode of transportation in South Africa is the railway system, which is also the most advanced system in Africa. People use the railway every day because it connects all major cities through its network.

South Africa is known for its luxury railway system called the Blue Train, which travels from the cities of Pretoria and Cape Town. The Blue Train features suites that have their own marble-tiled bathrooms and temperature controlled units, and there is a full-time staff of executive chefs, butlers and waiters to accommodate your needs.

One of the easiest ways to travel in South Africa is to grab a taxi ride or ride a bus. Both taxi cab services and bus companies will take you anywhere that you need to go, and they can be found in all major cities in South Africa. If you would like to travel by taxi you can choose the Grab a Cab service, or you can choose a bus transportation service like Translux to tour the biggest cities in South Africa.

Car rental is another option in South Africa. The Car Rental South Africa website offers services from companies such as Avis and Hertz, and allows you to compare prices to see which type of service you can afford.

Finally, if you’re interested in mountain biking or cycling around the South African landscape, you can always take a tour from a company like Downhill Adventures or just rent a bike to explore the area on your own.

Always follow health and safety guidelines no matter how you travel in South Africa, just to prepare yourself for the unexpected. In a foreign country halfway across the globe from your home, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Exchange Rates for South African Currency

South African currency is known as the rand. The rand was introduced in 1961 when the Republic of South Africa was established.

Here’s what you need to know about the rand:

* Coins = 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, R1, R2 and R5

* Bills = 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200

You can use a South African currency converter to compare other amounts of U.S. dollars against the rand.

Best Locations to Visit in South Africa

There are many must-see cities you should visit when you study in South Africa. Johannesburg, which is the largest city in South Africa, has an endless list of things to do.

Art enthusiasts can visit the Johannesburg Art Gallery, which features Dutch, British, European and South African art, and outdoor explorers can visit the caves in Sterkfontein, where fossils dating back as far as 3.5 million years ago have been found.

The second largest city in South Africa is Cape Town. This city has become a popular tourist destination because of its parks, beaches and other cultural attractions. The Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens features over 9,000 plants, and is a great place to relax and read a book.

Adventure-seekers can go hiking or rock climbing on Table Mountain, and people looking for good food and shopping can visit the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, where you can also take boat and helicopter rides.

Finally, Durban, the third largest city in South Africa, is the perfect place to go on a self-guided tour and view beautiful beaches and ports. The Golden Mile is a long stretch of sand that you can walk along and see waterfront properties, fishing piers, restaurants, museums and skate parks.

Durban is also home to uShaka Marine World, which has the fifth largest aquarium in the world and one of the largest ocean parks in Africa.

When You Want Study Abroad, Australia is the Place to Be By Anne Harvester

Published by admin under Education Abroad

If you have been in college for a while now and feel like you are in a rut, an overseas school semester study abroad experience might be just what you need to rev up your enthusiasm for academics. The school semester study abroad program is within your reach, because you can use your financial aid to offset the expenses. Plus, the college credits you earn overseas can be applied to your degree program at your home university or college.

Here is how school semester study abroad works: you take a look at what courses you require to complete your college graduate or undergraduate degree. Then you examine the course offerings from top Australian colleges and universities to find the ones you need to complete your degree. You can register for Australian courses in a similar manner as you would for your home university. It is as simple as that.

There are other aspects to the multicultural education experience that you will want to consider when you are looking at overseas universities and colleges and what they can offer you. For school study abroad, Australia offers a wealth of cultural experiences that can be had no where else on earth. Imagine what it would be like to work on classes, then have time on the weekends to explore the Great Barrier Reef, rest on sandy beaches or explore the great deserts of Australia. Plus feel free to take part in cultural events, and the school activities that you enjoy, such as meeting friends, eating local cuisines and going to dances.

There are many benefits that come to you as a student who has participated in a school semester study abroad program. Eventually you will graduate from college and will want to find a job. Although there are many qualified candidates, you will have something on your resume that few do: actual multicultural experience. In an increasingly global economy, that is an important qualification to possess.

For school study abroad, Australia offers some of the best academics in the world. For those who want an once-in-a-lifetime experience studying ecology and wildlife conservation and research, Central Queensland University is second to none. It offers a small campus with friendly students and staff that will make your experience one to remember.

Some students prefer a research-based school study abroad. Australia offers this at Australian National University. Here you can study economics, law, engineering, as well as Asia and Pacific Studies, among other intriguing areas.

There are a wealth of colleges and universities in Australia that are ready to welcome you into an exciting and innovative way to complete your degree at your home college or university. The first step is to look into a semester study abroad program.

Anne is director, student services and programs, for AustraLearn. Their school study abroad Australia program led to her experience growing in these studies, such as the school semester study abroad program.

Why Select Griffith University

Why Should Griffith ?

Griffith- the ideal location to combine study with a great lifestyle. Positioned in Queensland’s burgeoning Brisbane-Gold Coast corridor, Griffith is a six-campus university with more than 23,000 students, including 3,000 students from over 75 nations and 2,500 academic staff. The interdisciplinary nature of a Griffith degree is one of the University’s hallmarks and its various courses continue to challenge rigid academic structures.

With traditional strengths in the areas of environmental science and modern Asian studies, Griffith has been quick to take the lead in other disciplines, introducing courses in areas as diverse as business and commerce, child and family studies, biomedical science, contemporary Australian Indigenous art, information technology and multimedia. This responsiveness to community and industry needs is a particular strength of Griffith and reflects the commitment of its academic staff to explore new relationships between disciplines.

Griffith’s world-leading research continues to figure prominently on the international stage, With almost 50 specialized research centers, institutes and units, breakthroughs in areas including molecular biology, psychology and media policy studies have allowed Griffith to gain the necessary critical mass to attract major funding from forged significant industry partnerships around the globe, including multinational company AstraZeneca, catalyzing the formation of a major screening program at Griffith to identify pharmaceutical products from natural materials.
