Learning Online Makes School Easy and Helps Kids Build Self-Esteem, Giving Them the Edge By Cathie Sherwood

Published by admin under Online Education

Of course you want your child to have every advantage when it comes to getting the education they need. If you are like many parents, you may have found that your child has hit certain obstacles in their educational career. School programs can seem like they just don’t fully provide your child with the learning they will need to face the competitive career world someday. Also, as a parent, you may feel like you don’t have any control over your child’s education and you’re at the mercy of the school systems.

What can you as a parent do about this situation? You can always send your child to private schools, if you’re willing to pay a small fortune for the tuition. However, parents often find these same types of problems occurring in private schools. On the other hand, there are plenty of private educational companies that can tutor your child after regular school hours. But the prices they charge are often sky-high, and as a parent you still don’t feel like you have much control since you can’t really see what they are teaching your child. So what can you do?

Well, thankfully, a new alternative has become available in recent years in response to this growing need among parents who want to help their children achieve success. Parents want to have more control over their child’s education without incurring costs that are excessive. That new alternative is … the Online e-Course, Power of Success for Kids.

This is a multi-media course which your child can complete via the Internet from your own home computer at your convenience and with your supervision. Multi-media courses like this have proven to be successful for kids learning online because they not only involve text, but also audio and video for an interesting and fun multi-media experience. Online e-Courses are better than just buying educational software in a box because they are updated online by the providers as information changes and needs to be modified. This Online e-course was created to supplement regular education. Designed to help kids actually achieve success and prepare for college and career, this program teaches your child study and learning habits that they can use for the rest of their lives. Because Online education can be completed at your child’s own pace, and sections can be repeated as often as needed, such e-courses tend to boost your child’s self-esteem and confidence. Your child can spend as little as 10 minutes per day working on it.

Using e-Courses to supplement your child’s education can also help you as a parent. They are extremely cost-effective when compared to private tutoring`. Furthermore, learning online actually puts you in control of your child’s education. You don’t have to wonder why your child is struggling, and what they are being taught. You can see it for yourself because your child is doing the work right in front of you on your own home computer.

Even when you are busy with other household tasks, your child is continuing with their studies. You can be involved as much or as little as you feel is appropriate. This is a refreshing change from wondering what they are teaching your child at school, and feeling like you have no control. Online education can make school easy. You will be able to learn where your kids are at any time in the development curve, and how you can help them overcome their learning obstacles. Even more importantly, when you are actively participating in your child’s education, you will begin to experience a closer bonding with your child and you will have the enjoyment of experiencing their educational growth first-hand, rather than as a distant spectator.

Needless to say, having a resource centre that is so simple and practical within your home is priceless - just a minute away any time of day or night.

She has worked as a counsellor, massage therapist, in private practice and several government departments dealing with early school leavers and their parents. This has given me an insight into those that do slip through the cracks and what could prevent that so easily. It really is a family affair to succeed through those formative years. Preparing For College - Using a Distance Learning Private School By Julie Jackson

Published by admin under Online Education

In the competitive world of college admissions, today’s parents are looking for anything that will allow their children to be on equal ground with the country’s best and brightest minds. In some cases, parents will resort to everything from individual tutoring to supplemental classes in order to better prepare their students for admission and success in college. For the parent who is homeschooling their child, the most popular option for preparing a child for college comes in the form of enrollment in a distance learning private school.

A distance learning private school often represents the most popular method of preparing a homeschooled child for college. While parents of traditionally schooled children have to supplement the curriculum their child receives with tutoring and prep courses, parents who elect to enroll their child in a distance learning program can receive a comprehensive program that does all of that and more.

Distance learning private schools come with all of the benefits of a structured and traditional curriculum, but none of the drawbacks and problems of a traditional public and private school. For starters, distance learning private schools, like their traditional counterparts, can deliver lessons that are in line with state and/or national standards. In fact, many distance learning private schools are officially accredited by the same organizations that accredit and license traditional schools. Distance learning private schools, again like traditional schools, are also staffed by highly-qualified and credentialed teachers that are experts in the particular subject matter they are teaching.

Where the two approaches to education begin to separate is in the environment in which lessons are delivered. While traditional schools are often overcrowded and dangerous, students who attend distance learning private schools deliver their lessons in the comfort and safety of the child’s home. By not having to worry about personal safety or comfort, students can better focus their efforts on learning specific information or a particular lesson.

Since they are not tied down by the same issues and problems that traditional schools suffer from, distance learning programs can focus their efforts on educating students. Programs of study can be individually tailored to meet the needs of individual students, whether that means altering the pace of the lessons or the material being taught and covered.

By avoiding many of the environmental problems that currently plague most traditional public and private schools and focusing their efforts and attention on education and preparation, distance learning private schools have proven themselves to be extremely effective in preparing students not just for admission into the college of their choice, but for success at that college as well. Today’s distance learning private schools, with their official accreditation, credentialed teachers, and individual and unique approaches to education have placed themselves at the top in terms of the factor that most prepares students for college. In fact, homeschooled children who have been enrolled in distance learning programs often score higher on standardized tests, and receive admission to the college of their choice at a higher rate than students who attend traditional schools, or children who are homeschooled without the benefits of a distance learning program.
