Check list
Wondering what you should pack for your stay on campus? Here are some suggestions.

Linen and Bedding
Students are provided with sheets, a pillow, pillowcase, one blanket and a bedspread. Fresh bed linen is provided weekly. You must provide your own towels. Some students prefer to bring their own pillow and quilt.

Clothing
The Gold Coast region is sub-tropical and averages 300 days of sunshine a year. Daytime temperatures range from around 30C (86F) in the Summer to around 20C (68F) in the Winter. You should therefore pack lightweight clothing and some warmer gear for the evenings. Heavy winter clothing and coats are not needed, but a small umbrella might be wise. Dress on campus is casual, but you may be invited to formal events during your stay, so maybe pack one special outfit. Also, don’t forget your swimwear and gymwear if you wish to enjoy these facilities on campus.

Laundry
Washing machines, dryers, irons, ironing boards and hand washing facilities are available at no extra charge to Residents. You will need laundry detergent.

Cooking and Food
Your meal package comprises 14 meals per week ie breakfast and lunch or dinner each day. Cooking of food is not permitted in Residences, so please do not bring any cooking equipment.

Transport
Bicycle racks are situated in various places around the Halls of Residence and outside the North Tower. Students may park one car on-campus in the Residence car parks. This vehicle must be registered with both the Accommodation Manager and University Security.

Computers
There are computer facilities accessible to students on campus 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Students may bring their own desktop or laptop computer to the Residences if they wish. You will need to have a network/Ethernet card of type 10Base-T and a network cable (Cat 5 Cable) if you wish to access the Bond University network from your room.

Desk Lamp
You will need to bring your own desk lamp.

Study materials
Stationery and books may be purchased on campus.

Pharmaceuticals and Personal Products
Students using prescription medications are reminded to bring any required scripts or pharmaceuticals. Pharmacies are located at nearby shopping centres. Students will also need to provide their own toiletries and personal items such as soap, shampoo etc. These items may be purchased at nearby supermarkets.

Money
International students should arrange to have Australian money with them upon arrival as there is no facility at the university to convert or accept foreign currency.
