Course description: This program is establishes skills and knowledge of operations in a Food and Beverage department with a range of management and operational subjects. It also covers a core program of introductory hospitality and tourism industry subjects in business and finance, marketing, communication and technology and professional and behavioral management.

Entry requirements: Students on entry typically would have satisfactorily completed 12 years of schooling and hold the Higher School Certificate, International Baccalaureate or national equivalent. Students are required to turn 18 years of age within the first ten weeks of commencement. Entry into an undergraduate program at the Blue Mountains Hotel School is based upon academic performance, interview and proficiency in the English language. Students wishing to apply should submit copies of their reports and/or official examination certificates for assessment. Certified copies, translated if necessary, of all academic and professional qualifications, must support all applications. These are verified, if required, by reference to the issuing/awarding body. Referees confirmation will be sought if required. Preference will be given to applicants with a UAI score (or equivalent) of above 70 and/or related industry experience and/or demonstrated leadership qualities.

International Accommodation Blue Mountains Hotel School

No 1 Chambers boasts 122 twin share and single rooms, each with the convenience of full en-suite facilities. The rooms are comfortable and have individual study facilities. All rooms are equipped with a personal computer connected to the internet seven days per week twenty four hours per day, allowing students to work in the privacy of their own room.

During residential semesters all meals are provided from the range of restaurants in the hotel or via room service.

The Academic Staff

The School’s staff are well qualified with a combination of industrial and academic experience at a national and international level.

Members of the staff are on the editorial boards of academic journals, actively involved in research projects and have significant teaching experience at undergraduate and post graduate levels.
