Decision Making - 3 Observations About Making Decisions and Personal Success By Andy Hall

Decision Making - 3 Observations About Making Decisions and Personal Success By Andy Hall

People struggle with decision making for a variety of reasons.

I hope to reveal insight on 3 of the reasons I have observed in my own personal journey.

1. Fear of Making a Bad Decision

This is probably the most difficult decision making obstacle. When we make a “bad” decision, we often feel like we have failed in some way, that we have not lived up to our own expectations in regard to our personal success.

What you must understand, however, is that no success comes without failure. No one has ever achieved personal success without failing at some point.

What you must learn to do is this: Embrace the results of your decisions whether good or bad. Either way you have something to learn from the experience and move forward. So rather than be fearful of making decisions, look for opportunities to make even more decisions. Over time you will develop, through experience, the ability to make better and more confident decisions.

2. Procrastination

Often times, people avoid making a decision altogether simply because they wish to avoid the action required of the decision.

An example could be someone who says “I’d like to lose 10-15 pounds,” but then never follows through, because the action required would involve diet and exercise.

Or a person who says “I’d like to make more money this year,” but doesn’t ever seem to get around to it because they “don’t have the time,” when in reality they don’t want to “sacrifice” the time they spend doing other things.

Procrastination is simply making a decision to stay where you are, to accept the status quo, and do nothing about your personal, spiritual, or financial situation.

3. Thinking That a Choice Doesn’t Exist

It’s easy to be fooled into thinking that there is no decision to be made.

I see people every day go to a job they hate because they don’t think any other options exist for them. Yet our possibilities are nearly endless.

Don’t like your job? Then do something else!

Don’t like where you live? Move somewhere else!

The point is, you always have a choice about your life. Most people are “satisfied” with living within the boundaries of society’s expectations, rather than living according to their own expectations.

I encourage you to make more decisions, commit to performing the actions required by those decisions, and remain conscious of your ability to change anything in your life with each decision you make.

How to Achieve Your Goals - Go Out There and Make it Happen By Omar Negron

How to Achieve Your Goals - Go Out There and Make it Happen By Omar Negron

Don’t you wish it was easy to achieve your goals? Well we all do. Unfortunately not all of our dreams become realities. Here’s the problem, when making a goal most people don’t commit to them. Can you relate in some way? Sometimes this happens to me but we have to make sure that we don’t make a habit. Here are some quick tips and goal setting that you can follow and should be fairly simple.

Devote some time to brainstorming. Take 20 minutes out of your day to sit down and relax. Don’t over analyze anything. Just write down what you want big or small when you truly desire and want out of your life.Everything that you ever wanted in your life anything that you really want to get just write it down.

I’m sure there’s a lot of goals long-running in your head right now,but now is the time to sit and pick one. Pick the one goal that would have the most impact on your life and strive towards it. If it’s a goal that will take more than one year to fulfill try to break it down to small goals so it does seem more realistic to you.

Concentrate on that one goal. It’s a bad idea to start going from goal to goal even though it sounds like a good idea. Focus your time on one and continue to work at it. Once you achieve it it will make it that much better. When you make a goal you really have to make a commitment to achieve it in expose potential. One goal gives you clarity 10 goals give you chaos.

Always remember that.

If you want to learn the truth in goal setting check out the resource box below.

The Success Factors - Commitment By Michael Oksa

The Success Factors - Commitment By Michael Oksa

History is filled with success stories of people who had hit rock bottom, and still rose to the top. They didn’t find a genie in a bottle, nor did they wave a magic wand to experience instant success - those are fairy tales. Yet, all of these people have some things in common. Commitment is the common bond that contributed to their life success, and you can put it to work for you, too.

Commitment to self

You need to be good to yourself, and do consistently. There will be times you feel like sacrificing your health (mental or physical), but suffering from burnout is not what success is. Make the decision to do what is right for you; not what others want you to be. Remember, success is self-defined.

Commitment to others

Don’t get the impression that you can be selfish and be a success, you can’t. Improve other people’s lives in some way, and make them better for knowing you. Keep your ego in check, be humble, and help others along the way.

Commitment to principles

Just as history is filled with “rags to riches” success stories, so too, is it filled with those who fell from grace. How could people who seemed to have everything have thrown it all away? Easy, they let go of their principles. Even the smallest lapse in principles can lead to such a fall. You need to select the right principles and commit to them, no matter what happens.

Commitment to success

You must continually nourish your mind with the right input. Success is an ongoing process that needs to be fed continually. One of the reasons people at the top have fallen is that they became complacent, but you can avoid that if you make the commitment now to constantly feed yourself with the good stuff.

The Success Factors - Setting Small Goals By Michael Oksa

The Success Factors - Setting Small Goals By Michael Oksa

The success gurus often say things like, “Dream big!”, or, “Make goals so big that they motivate you to great things!” Well, that’s all fine if you already have a success mindset, but if you aren’t quite there yet, then you may not even have a concept of how big ‘big’ can be. In fact a goal that is too big may be discouraging at first, so much so that you never take those first necessary steps to success.

Here’s an eye-opener for you: You don’t have to make big goals.

The truth of the matter is that you can set goals of any size, as long as they move you forward. Heck! They don’t even have to move you forward in the beginning; they just have to get you moving.

If you think about it, big goals are often broken down into smaller ones anyway. The only difference is that you will be making the smaller ones without the larger ones in mind (not yet anyway).

Getting into the habit of setting goals, taking action, and achieving them is far more important than how big they are. After you do it a few times, you will find your goals grow as each minor success is achieved. However, it’s not fair for anyone to tell you to make goals so big that you never do anything due to a lack of belief in their possibility.

No, the right size is the one that spurs you to action. Don’t let anyone scoff at what they think are small dreams, because even they must admit that we all have to start from some where.

Hint - Use the Wisdom of Benjamin Franklin to Become Famous by Morning By Mark A. Lewis

Hint - Use the Wisdom of Benjamin Franklin to Become Famous by Morning By Mark A. Lewis

Benjamin Franklin was one of the founding fathers of the United States of America, but to call him just a scientist would not do him justice.

He was a noted author, satirist, civic activist, inventor, statesman and diplomat.

Franklin is credited as being foundational to the roots of American values and character, a marriage of the practical and democratic values of thrift, hard work, education and community spirit.

Also famous for a number of quotes, let’s use the Benjamin Franklin ethics of hard work and persistence to help you forge ahead in your efforts of business and self promotion:

Planning
“Never leave that till to-morrow which you can do to-day.”

I have heard this put in another, more direct, way by Carnegie and Schwab: “Eat the frog first”. That is, whatever is your most unpleasant task, get it out of the way first! Then everything after that will seem easy.

Teamwork
“We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”

Whether you work alone or in a group, at some stage reliance on others can be necessary and better still, extremely useful to fulfilling your needs.

“Many hands make light work”, so lighten your load both mentally and physically when you can.

Achievement
“Little strokes fell great oaks.”

Many people are daunted by the enormity of a project or promotion. Breaking it down into manageable tasks and defining the ‘critical path’ can have you speeding to a successful outcome.

Success
“A little neglect may breed mischief: for want of a nail the shoe was lost; for want of a shoe the horse was lost; and for want of a horse the rider was lost.”

Don’t forget to do the groundwork for a project. Enormous structures are only as stable and strong as the foundations they sit upon.

“Idleness and pride tax with a heavier hand than kings and parliaments. If we can get rid of the former, we may easily bear the latter.”

What measure of satisfaction can a person get for not pursuing a path or dream? Pride in one’s achievement is acceptable and expected after a comparable effort has been made in pursuit of the task.

“God helps them that help themselves.”

This is another of the universal laws. With the correct mindset and effort, you “reap what you sow”.

Money
“Remember that time is money.”

Making one million dollars is not the same if it was done over 3 years compared to 30 years. So don’t delay another minute and forge ahead!

“A man may, if he knows not how to save as he gets, keep his nose to the grindstone.”

If you desire to be wealthy and successful then educating yourself in ways to maintain and grow such wealth is an important skill to learn.

Time
“Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.”

Learn to ‘live in the now’. Don’t put off things until tomorrow, don’t dwell on past failures or achievements just as you shouldn’t fear or get too excited over future events. The only things you can do and influence are happening right now.

So live for the moment and become Famous By Morning!
