This article is going to explain about my experiences in getting a job in the IT industry with no experience. I will tell you what helped me the most.

We all know that getting a job seems to be getting harder and harder, especially at the moment with the current economy. So getting the right qualifications and having a small amount of experience is very important.

The first thing I would recommend is getting at least a college education. I know that when I was working for a computer repair company this was the main thing they looked for, if you didn’t even attend college you didn’t even get an interview.

The second is professional qualifications. When I got my job I had taken and passed the CompTIA A+ certificate and this helped me a lot in getting the job, I think it looks very professional if you have extra certificates, especially if you have taken the time and spent the money to gain it.

The last and probably the most important is experience, now I seemed to get into a loop when I was first looking for a job. No where would hire me if I had no experience, but how can I gain experience If I can’t get a job? the solution for me was to volunteer a few days a week at a computer repair company. Here I worked and learned the trade and eventually got a job out of it. So this ended up been a very good thing.

I now plan on using the same method to gain experience in other areas of the IT industry.

Best of luck to anyone trying to get a job.
