If you live in an area that doesn’t get sunshine during the winter months, driving can be a little tricky, especially during big rain and snow storms. Visibility can be little to none, and if it gets very cold, the roads can be icy and slick.

The first thing you should do when September comes around is to check your tires. Are they bald? If so, you need to buy some new snow tires before the first snow of the season. Failing to do so can result in damaging your car, and worse, damaging your health.

If you can’t afford four new tires, you need to buy at least two new tires. If you have front wheel drive, put them on the front. If you have back wheel drive, put them on back.

Preferably you would have a four wheel drive vehicle if you live in a place that gets especially bad weather. 4WD makes it very hard for you to get stuck in the snow.

If you have two vehicles at your house, you should avoid buying two cars. Get one car and one sport utility vehicle. Only drive your SUV during snow storms, the extra weight of the SUV and the four wheel drive will make a huge difference while you’re on the road. If you have a truck, load it up with all your tools and extra utilities to add extra weight.

When you’re on the road be mindful of other drivers before the speed limit. For example, if the speed limit on the main road is 40 miles per hour, but the flow of traffic is only 30 miles per hour, take a chill pill and go 30! Trying to speed around slower cars in snowy weather and icy roads can lead to a bad traffic accident.

It’s easy to get to used to driving that you stop paying as much attention as you should. Just remember, when the weather is bad, be on your A-game when you’re driving. Turn the phone off, turn the radio down, and keep your eyes on the road at all times.

If you are going to have a big party, a plastic folding table would be perfect for all your needs. Find out more information at http://plasticfoldingtable.org
